Septembers’ Beauty Favourites

I will hold my hands up and admit that I have been slightly MIA over on my blog this last month and do you want to know the God’s honest truth as to why this is? I’ve been busy AF and not even had a minute to sit down and write which makes a stark contrast to today. I’m currently sat in a coffee shop, strong cappuccino in hand. Without going too off topic, do you ever feel completely drained and like you don’t even have the energy to lift up your coffee cup to drink? I am all about that mood today and have been all week. I wouldn’t say that I’m not in a good head space, but I think I may be in some sort of funk. This last month I have been to both Paris and Copenhagen, working on the apartment, starting a YouTube channel, had family coming up to stay and been working on numerous campaigns. This week has been the first week that my schedule hasn’t been jam-packed and I thought that it would be a welcome break, but now I’m sat here writing this, and upon reflection, I think that maybe I’m wired for chaos and that kind of fast-paced lifestyle. I called my mum earlier today, which has become a little ritual I have prioritised since moving to Manchester, and I of course told her about this funk and after our conversation it’s made me question purpose – we all need a purpose and to feel like each day we are getting up and doing something that fulfils us. While this job is incredibly fulfilling the majority of the time, there is also the other side that most people don’t see, a significant part being spending a lot of time alone.

With this ‘mood’ on my mind, I made it a mission to come out today and get back into that work mode and defeat this unwanted funk. What better way to do so than share this months beauty favourites with you lovely lot? I’ve been using all of these for the last three weeks to give a very authentic and honest review so here goes.

First up is this Elemis body scrub which I can honestly report back as being a 10/10 exfoliator. In the last month I have resorted back to fake tan and since I am incredibly OCD and a self-confessed perfectionist, I can’t deal with any patchiness of any sort. How do you achieve the perfect tan? Exfoliating the entirety of your body beforehand. Not only does this remove any left over tan, it smells like a dream and leaves your skin feeling so soft – the fact it looks so delicious is just an added bonus.
Tip: follow with Elemis Frangipani Monoi Body Cream and you are golden.

I had heard so much about this product but had never actually had the pleasure of using it. Well, I honestly can’t imagine my skincare routine without it now. This is the first step within your beauty regime and guarantees your ‘cleanest’ skin and vows to cut through make-up. So many products promise this and don’t deliver so I was a little apprehensive but hand on heart – this is worth the £35 spend. The product spreads really well so you only need one pump for it to do it’s job.
Tip: you use this product before following up with your cleanser/exfoliator.

I want to make it clear that I never advertise any products that I don’t genuinely use myself and think are good and worth sharing – this Dermalogica Skin Prep Scrub is one of them. Until recently, I have never used Dermalogica before – fast forward a few weeks and I can definitely vouch for the brand as what I have used has done exactly what it says it’s going to do. I have been using this three times a week, (in-between tanning) and each time it has left my skin feeling incredibly soft and recharged. I find with some exfoliators, it takes a long time for your face to feel clean and getting the polishing scrub off can be a total nightmare – this was easy.
Tip: don’t exceed the recommended amount as you will end up with no skin left

Who thought you would ever use a sound sleep cocoon on your face? It’s true, it really does exist and this product is an essential in achieving beautiful skin. For my fellow troubled sleepers, believe it or not but this product also aids sleep as well as skin recovery. I have used this twice now and have woken up to fresh, hydrated skin. Is it worth the dollar? If you have some spare cash and are looking at investing in some authentic products that hydrate and reduce those dark circles and fix tired skin – yes, yes, yes.
Tip: apply a thin layer before you go to bed and sleep in this beautiful treatment gel

I know what you’re thinking, she’s featured this before – you’re right. I swear by this product and it’s the holy grail of my skincare regime so much so, I had to feature it again and emphasise just how good it is. Retailing at £22.95, this is very reasonably priced for such a luxurious cleanser and trust me when I say that it’s worth every penny. I use this both morning and night and find that it’s one of the only cleansers that doesn’t dry my skin out (I have dry/combination). For those of you that also prioritise smell when it comes to your skincare, I can report back with the fact that this smells like a spa – what’s not to love?
Tip: you only need one pump to cover the entirety of your face

I don’t know about you, but I’m one of those people that loves to ensure that every single scrap of make-up has been removed during my skincare regime. I know what you are probably thinking, does she have any skin left? The answer is yes. It’s so important to take care of your skin and invest in it, after all, it’s not like you can go and trade it in when it doesn’t look like what you want it to. After cleansing, use one cotton wool pad with this amazing product on it, and sweep along the face – not only will your skin feel refreshed and smooth, you won’t find any make-up residue on your pad I promise.
Tip: I use this at night only.

Septembers skincare products have been some of the best I have ever used and I’m so lucky that my job allows me to test and experience so many different brands and report back with my feedback. If you have been contemplating changing up your skincare routine, or trying some new products – I would strongly recommend giving some of these a try – they won’t disappoint.
